- Letter from the President
The Connection Club Newsletter
July 2026 Events
Greetings members!
Summer is upon us and the days are as long as they will be until this time next year. We invite you to join us at some of our social gatherings as we enjoy this wonderful California sunshine.
Below you will find a list of activities available for our membership. New this month is a Movie and Discussion on Thursday, July 30 at 1:00 PM at the Peacock Hall. The movie is called, “The Sheep Detectives” which has received great reviews. After the movie, we will meet in the courtyard outside Peacock Hall for what is expected to be an interesting conversation. We hope to see you there.
Also new this year will be a Book Discussion on September 15 at 11:00 AM in one of the Gateway Multipurpose Rooms. While too early to have on the monthly timeline, we want you to know we will be discussing the book, “Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt. This book, which was made into a heartwarming movie, adds a deep perspective on heartbreak and healing and is a joy to read. The format of this meeting is intended to provide a ‘book club’ feel without the need to meet every month. If you are interested in attending this discussion, mark your calendar and plan to join us.
Please join us in welcoming our new members this month:
Barbara Ahern
Susan Dehlendorf
Beth Hume
Carol MacLeod
Joan Siltanen
That is all that is new for now. We hope you are able to join in some of the upcoming events.
And please note that the club is only as strong as the participation by members. If you love what the club is doing, we invite you to become active in planning these events. Not only is it a great way to meet people, but it is fun to be part of the event you have had a hand in developing. For more information, reach out to Jan Klein at iamjanklein@gmail.com
Respectfully, Jan Klein, President
