The Connection Club Newsletter
September 2026
Greetings members! Fall is approaching with the hope of cooler weather and a more normal schedule as children are back in school. For those of you who have returned from your summer vacations, welcome back! To help you get into a regular activities, below you will find a list of events available to our membership.
First on our list of activities will be our Monthly meeting on September 1 at 3:00 PM in the Donner Room. We will have a welcome back meeting with a joyous game of Bingo! Please plan to attend this event and connect with friends, both old and new.
New members in August are Cathy McGoff and Pat Butcher
New for September will be a Book Discussion on September 15 at 11:00 AM in one of the Gateway Multipurpose Rooms. We will be discussing the book, “Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt. This book, which was made into a heartwarming movie, adds a deep perspective on heartbreak and healing and is a joy to read. The format of this meeting is intended to provide a ‘book club’ feel without the need to meet every month. If you are interested in attending this discussion, mark your calendar and plan to join us.
That is all that is new for now. We hope you are able to join in some of the upcoming events.
And please note that the club is only as strong as the participation by members. If you love what the club is doing, we invite you to become active in planning these events. Not only is it a great way to meet people, but it is fun to be part of an event you have had a hand in developing.

This is an informal and fun way for ladies to get together to meet other women and build connections. This event is open to members and non members alike. Participants may go to the bar at the Golden Pear Restaurant to purchase a beverage or bring their own drink for an hour of conversation and friendship. Some participants may choose to go to dinner afterwards.

If you are interested in seeing a movie and getting together to discuss it afterwards, this event is for you. On Thursday, at 1:00 PM, club members are invited to go to Peacock Hall to see the movie.
The movie is offered by the recreation department at no cost. Afterwards, ladies are invited to join Bev Fellows in the courtyard to talk about the movie.

Every Wednesday Games: In the Oak Room at Gateway 1-3 PM. This is a drop-in group to play cards or other games. Often the game is hand and foot which is easy to learn and play. No experience is necessary. As the room is not dedicated to our club, look for the Connection group in the room. They usually sit by the windows.
Every Monday Walk and Talk: 5 PM - Every Monday there is a group of women who meet behind the Event Center to walk for about 40 minutes on the golf course.
